The Maritime Competence Score (MCS) was developed by MV WERFTEN as a way to evaluate the occupational competence of maritime professionals.
Points are awarded according to education, vocational training and work experience, thus establishing a base-level overview of the expected competence of applicants, employees and executives.
The point value is arranged according to specializations and is initially focused on the various areas of activity (shipbuilding, project management, subcontracting, etc.) and the different requirement trees (trades, engineering services, personnel management).
The goal is a fast and reliable aptitude score.
In the future this point value can also be assessed by a network of key personnel from the maritime industry, independently making the scores available to companies and maritime professionals.
