MV WERFTEN is the heart of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern’s maritime industry. Luxurious river ships, polar expedition yachts and the world's largest cruise liners are imagined, developed and built here.
A passion for shipbuilding, a belief in our abilities and the courage to innovate is what sets us apart. "Three shipyards. One team." is not just a slogan for our 2,000 employees, but an entrenched corporate philosophy. Over the last 70 years, our shipyards in Wismar, Rostock and Stralsund have delivered over 2,500 new vessels for deployment in tourism, the Arctic, logistics and the offshore industry .
In 2016, we opened up a new and exciting chapter in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern's long and rich history of shipbuilding excellence with the construction of unparalleled cruise ships. Having already delivered four luxury river-cruise ships within eight months, construction of the first Endeavor expedition yacht and of the Global Class flagship is also in progress on our three yards.
Our employees' unsurpassed construction skills and our state-of-the-art, high-tech production facilities guarantee the finest workmanship and the highest quality products of anywhere on earth. That is the MV WERFTEN way.
The shipyard group MV WERFTEN is acquiring the Rostock-based Neptun Ship Design, which as Germany’s largest ship design office has enjoyed an excellent reputation worldwide for decades thanks to its impressive know-how and successful designs.
MV WERFTEN put into operation the laser-hybrid welding line in its new hall 11 for producing panels measuring up to 25 x 16 meters for the Global Class cruise ships. In future, close on 150 employees per shift will work in the hall complex.
