Our Shipyard

Hanseatic City of Rostock

MV WERFTEN Rostock, our largest site with an area of 685,000 m², is one of the most efficient shipbuilding businesses worldwide. Where the Warnow River flows into the Baltic Sea, we have been designing and constructing reliable high-tech ships for more than seventy years. Rostock's proud constructions include general cargo, bulker, container and Arctic ships, the Stena Don service and survey drilling rig as well as three offshore converter platforms.

Our location in Rostock-Warnemünde has a divisible 54-metre wide and 11-metre deep building dock, with 80 metres of its 320 metre length covered. Projects up to 85 metres in height can be constructed here. The 95-metre high and widely visible gantry crane, one of Seebad Warnemünde's landmarks, has a lifting capacity of up to 700 tonnes. Ships with a deadweight tonnage of up to 200,000 tdw can be built at the shipyard.

We have one of the world's most modern laser-welding panel lines and a new, highly efficient section line at this location. This is why most of the large sections for the ships of the Global Class are manufactured in Rostock.
