The number of employees will be doubled to 3,100 in the medium term. Employees for project planning, construction, planning, project management and purchasing will be especially sought.

November 2016 | At today’s information event of the MV WERFTEN Group in Wismar, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern's Minister of Economics, Employment and Health Harry Glawe and MV WERFTEN's Managing Director Jarmo Laakso, initiated not one, but two recruitment campaigns: Mecklenburg-Vorpommern's largest job offensive "250 New Colleagues in 6 Months" and the apprentice offensive "90 Apprentices by 1 September 2017”.
In the coming months, design engineers, project managers, engineers and purchasers will be especially needed. "First-class products are the result of first-class employees," said HR manager Björn Cleven. "We offer our employees long-term perspectives, responsible tasks and chances for professional development at all three of our sites. Our focus is not just on recruitment, but also on staff retention.”
In-house training will also be strengthened: 90 new apprentices will be hired as construction, plant and production mechanics, industrial electricians and mechatronics engineers as well as double engineering majors at the beginning of the next training year on 1 September 2017.
Currently, MV WERFTEN employs a staff of around 1,500. The group plans to hire 450 new employees in the next six months alone of which up to 200 will be at the newly established cabin module factory of the daughter company MV WERFTEN Fertigmodule GmbH. In the medium term, current orders require personnel to be increased to approx. 3,100 employees. The MV WERFTEN Group's order book includes river cruisers, expedition mega yachts and ocean cruise ships – including the largest cruisers ever built in Europe. The company is currently investing hundreds of millions in its locations, facilities and employee qualifications.
