MV WERFTEN Fertigmodule welcomes its 100th employee

With its hiring of a married couple from Wismar, the cabin fabrication company MV WERFTEN Fertigmodule now has a team of over 100 employees. The newcomers Verena and Matthias Riebe will be employed in procurement and work preparation respectively. The company’s staff is to increase to up to 200 in the medium term.

Wismar, 01. February 2019 | The cabin fabrication company MV WERFTEN Fertigmodule can now boast a three-figure workforce after welcoming its 100th employee: Verena Riebe, the new strategic buyer.

“I’m delighted to have found a new professional challenge at MV WERFTEN Fertigmodule and to have become part of the MV WERFTEN family,” said Verena Riebe (36). “As a native of Wismar and also because of my family background, I have always felt attached to the shipyard.”

At MV WERFTEN Fertigmodule, Ms Riebe, who was previously employed in the purchasing department of a sawmill for ten years, is to be responsible for areas including contract negotiations, sourcing and strategic supplier development. Her husband Matthias joined MV WERFTEN Fertigmodule at the same time. He is starting a job as work preparer – as employee number 101.

“Previously I worked all over Germany for more than ten years,” reported Matthias (38). “Now I can work in my home town and support MV WERFTEN Fertigmodule building prefabricated cabins for the largest cruise ships in the world – it is the purest stroke of luck for me!”

Volker Asmus and Johannes Gößler, Managing Directors of MV WERFTEN Fertigmodule GmbH, extended a warm welcome to Verena and Matthias Riebe on behalf of the firm’s entire workforce. “We will keep growing our company, taking on new staff and giving our employees continual further training so we can deliver top-quality prefabricated modules on schedule,” affirmed Volker Asmus.

MV WERFTEN Fertigmodule GmbH hired 55 new employees last year. It plans to take on further staff up into 2020 depending on production requirements. With full production capacity utilisation, it requires between 180 and 200 employees in cabin manufacture. The company is currently seeking personnel mainly for the production and store/logistics areas. It needs particularly joiners, electricians, metalworkers, gas/water installers and ventilation fitters. Career changers are also welcome to apply. Applications can be submitted online (
