Start of training at MV WERFTEN for 60 trainees and six dual students

66 young men and women were ceremoniously welcomed at the three locations of MV WERFTEN on 2 September. The trainees are being trained in seven specialist areas. A total of 282 recruits are currently learning skills at the shipyard group.

Wismar, 02. September 2019 | The MV WERFTEN family is growing: 66 young persons began their training at the shipyard group’s three locations on Monday. The young maritime employees – 23 in Wismar, 19 in Rostock-Warnemünde and 24 in Stralsund – were given a warm welcome by their instructors, representatives of the management and the employee councils.

The 60 new trainees are divided up among seven occupational groups. 24 construction mechanics, twelve manufacturing mechanics, six industrial mechanics, two warehouse logistics specialists, six electronics technicians for operating technology and also for the first time six industrial management assistants and four technical product designers are undergoing training at the shipyards. The six dual students of mechanical engineering and electrical engineering will complete the practical part of their training at MV WERFTEN and the theoretical part at the universities in Wismar and Stralsund.

“We are delighted that also this year we can accompany so many young persons at the beginning of their professional lives,” said HR manager Björn Cleven. “As young employees, they will help shape the future of MV WERFTEN. We’ve invariably put high priority on training in our group, as we know that effective training is crucial for our future ideas and success.” The Chambers of Industry and Commerce of the Federal State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania regularly commend MV WERFTEN’s three locations for their high-quality training as “TOP companies that take on trainees”, most recently in spring 2019.

A total of 282 young people – 247 trainees and 35 dual students – are currently learning at the three locations of MV WERFTEN. The group offers all trainees or students permanent employment after they have successfully completed their training or dual course of study.
